Roundtable discussion: Heliodoro Dols: Tradition, Modernity, Authenticity

School of Architecture Saló de Graus

On 4 November at 13.00, the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture will host a roundtable discussion on architect Heliodoro Dols, who designed and oversaw the construction of the Sanctuary of Torreciudad, one of the country’s most important pilgrimage sites.

The aim of the roundtable is to showcase Heliodoro Dols’s architecture and explore Spanish architecture from the 1970s and 80s, a blend of tradition and modernity.

The participants in the roundtable discussion are:

  • Fredy Massad, lecturer at the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture and discussion moderator.
  • Dr Eduardo Delgado Orusco, curator of the exhibition and full professor of Architectural Projects.
  • Dr Javier Domingo de Miguel, curator of the exhibition.
  • Dr Silvia Blanco Agüeira, director of Architecture at CESUGA.

The roundtable discussion is part of the exhibition “Heliodoro Dols: Tradition, Modernity, Authenticity”, which will remain on display until 20 November in the entrance to the Alpha building on the Barcelona Campus. The exhibition features a scale model of the sanctuary, made in 1966, six information panels and fourteen original architectural drawings.

The event is open to the public.
