Presentation

The Emergency Psychology Training Programme is a specialised course designed for psychologists, social workers, nurses and other healthcare professionals, as well as occupational health and safety managers and specialists, human resources professionals and anyone responsible for managing large teams which may be involved in critical situations, emergencies or disasters. It is a largely hands-on programme that provides participants the skills and tools necessary for delivering immediate psychological support to people directly or indirectly affected by traumatic events, while also preparing them to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
The course combines crisis intervention models, psychological first aid and evidence-based approaches, with a focus on emotional stabilisation, decision-making in high-pressure situations and professional self-care. Through real-life cases and applicable strategies, the aim of the programme is to strengthen the confidence, effectiveness and compassion of professionals involved in emergencies, promoting a holistic approach to care that supports both those who receive assistance and the professionals themselves.
