Academic Excellence Scholarship - Business Administration

The grants cover from 20% to 80% of enrolment fees for each academic year of the bachelor’s degree programme.  In this way, the cost is similar to the academic fees you pay in state or public universities.   

The grants programme receives support from UIC Barcelona and, now in it is now also offered to Business Administration and Management (ADE) students

The aim of this programme is to make a positive contribution to an economic environment that demands entrepreneurial and innovative capacity, and to promote job opportunities.    
The qualities of a good entrepreneur (technical knowledge, social awareness, interpersonal skills, etc) are also key aspects of Business Administration and Management (ADE) studies at UIC Barcelona. 

Terms and conditions of the scholarship

There is a limited number of grants. To apply for this call, it is essential to meet the following requirements, which under no circumstances will guarantee the award of the grant: 

Academic requirements
  1. A minimum of an 8 as the average mark from 1st year of your baccalaureate studies (Spanish academic system)
  2. Having passed the specific UIC Barcelona exam for ADE studies, in the call corresponding to our Grants for Academic Excellence. 
  3. Provide marks from their first year of upper secondary school and from the completed semesters in their second year
  4. A letter of motivation from the candidate in which they explain why they think they deserve the grant (marks, personal achievements, aptitudes, etc.).
Financial requirements

The candidate must provide proof of their family’s income. 

Procedure and timelines

All documentation must be uploaded to the UIC Barcelona admissions portal. 

The entrance examination for the call for the Grants for Academic Excellence will take place on our Barcelona campus (c/ Immaculada, 22). Admission tests will be administered online.  

Important dates
  • November: tests for the Academic Excellence Grant call
  • January: tests for the Academic Excellence Grant call
  • April: tests for the Academic Excellence Grant call  

The final resolution of the UIC Barcelona Grants for Academic Excellence is the exclusive responsibility of the Grants Committee, which reserves the right to accept or reject applications.

You are eligible to apply for the scholarship if you study:

  • Business Administration and Management (ADE)
  • ADE
  • ADE + Engineering and Industrial Management (it doesn’t include a grant for the second degree)
  • ADE + Law
  • ADE + Humanities (it doesn't include a grant for the second degree)
  • ADE + Bsc in Marketing (it doesn't include a grant for the second degree)
  • ADE + Bsc in Finance (it doesn't include a grant for the second degree)
  • ADE + Bsc in Economics (it doesn't include a grant for the second degree)

Grant renewal

To renew a Grant for Academic Excellence for the following academic year students will have to meet the academic requirements established by UIC Barcelona.

Additionally, students who obtain a Grant for Academic Excellence (BEA) will have to work for 15 hours per year, on tasks assigned to them by the department they are affiliated to.  The hours can be concentrated into specific activities or can be distributed throughout the whole year according to each department’s needs.
