About 60 proposals are presented at the 3rd SDG Congress of UIC Barcelona

More than 300 students from the different faculties of the University presented their projects related to climate action, health and ethics

For the third consecutive year, the University’s Cooperation and Development Office has organised the SDG Congress of the 2030 Agenda: Climate Action, Health and Ethics at UIC Barcelona. At the event, held on 3 May at the Sant Cugat Campus, 300 students from different degrees participated and presented a total of 58 sustainable proposals.

The congress was designed as a competition and this year consisted of the presentation of research projects and proposals for intervention by students, all linked to SDGs 3, 4 and 13. The papers and presentations were evaluated by an interdisciplinary team of lecturers and researchers from UIC Barcelona and external professionals who are experts in sustainability.

Students presented their work throughout the morning, participating in one of the two categories: Research Project and Intervention Proposal. Among the ideas heard was the creation of a support group at the University to help students become more sustainable, proposals to mitigate the consequences and environmental impact of food production and consumption, and solutions to the water crisis.

Undergraduate students from Medicine, Early Childhood Education, Advertising and Psychology participated in the congress. The University aims to continue highlighting the need for the universal citizen involvement in sustainability, and above all, the mainstreaming of these types of research and action, each one created with the specific perspective of the student’s studies.
