The short film that took first prize was Between the lines by Laura Bueno, while A fantastic adventure by Diego Israel and La historia de un libro by Verónica Bartol came second and third respectively.

The first edition of the Awards has come and gone. The finale of the Seeing is Reading International Short Film Award, a festival organised by Aceprensa, the specialist journalism agency, and the UIC Barcelona Faculty of Communication Sciences, was held today. The awards ceremony was launched to promote a passion for reading among young people.

The jury included the director general of Aceprensa, José María Román; lecturers from the Faculty, Isadora García and Geoffrey Cowper; and the head of the Faculty’s Digital Media Studios, Oscar Sueiro. The jury announced Between the lines, by Laura Bueno, as the winner, which portrays the many virtues that books have to offer.

The second-place prize was won by Diego Israel with his short film A fantastic adventure, an animated piece that transports the viewer into the magical universe of reading. La historia de un libro, by Veronica Bartol, won third prize with a piece that captivates the viewer from start to finish.

The awards ceremony, which was held online, with the jury present at the UIC Barcelona Saló de Graus, saw the official announcement of the second edition of the competition.

The dean of the Faculty, Alfonso Méndiz, and Faculty lecturers Raquel Iriso and Rebeca Pardo also took part in the event.
