B-EXCELLENT programme at the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences connects students with the realities of the food sector
The B-EXCELLENT programme, an initiative run by the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences at UIC Barcelona, is designed to foster talent, leadership and business vision among Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management (ADE) students with the highest academic performance
In this edition, the programme – which combines a range of learning methodologies aimed at bringing real-world business closer to university students – has focused on the food sector in collaboration with Simón Coll, a company with over six generations of history and a benchmark in the world of chocolate.
A total of 32 ADE students took part, working on a real challenge set by the company that was directly linked to its operations and the realities of the sector. Over four sessions, participants worked on real cases in multidisciplinary teams and engaged directly with leading professionals in the sector. This experience enabled them to see how strategic decisions are made in a real business environment.
The sessions also benefitted from the collaboration of Binnakle, a consultancy specialising in gamification and organisational transformation, which supported the students’ work through a practical, participatory and results-oriented methodology.
Initiatives such as this reinforce UIC Barcelona’s commitment to education that is closely connected to market realities, ensuring a stronger and more realistic transition for students into the professional world with the aim of preparing them to become future business leaders.
