Dr Jaume Boadas, teacher in the Department of Medicine, new president of the Catalan Society of Digestology
This appointment recognises Dr Boadas’ professional and academic career, highlighting his dedication and commitment to patients with digestive diseases
Dr Jaume Boadas has been a lecturer in the Department of Medicine since 2020. His clinical work is affiliated with the Terrassa Health Consortium (CST), a hospital linked to the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at UIC Barcelona, where he currently serves as head of Digestology.
His appointment as president of the Catalan Society of Digestology is an acknowledgement of his outstanding career, with a strong academic background and extensive experience in clinical practice, research and teaching within the field of digestology.
The 2024 recipient of the Barcelona Medical Association's Professional Excellence Award in recognition of his distinguished career, Dr Boadas has served on the boards of several scientific societies, including the Catalan Pancreas Society, the Spanish Association of Pancreatology and the Scientific Committee of the Spanish Association of Gastroenterology.
With over 800 members, the Catalan Society of Digestology is deeply committed to teaching and research, with the aim of shaping healthcare planning and promoting greater equity in care across Catalonia.
