Dr Marc Simón speaks at two international conferences on law and new technologies
The lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Law at UIC Barcelona took part in two academic events held in Madrid and online, focused on artificial intelligence, data protection, and legal regulation in industrial sectors
Dr Marc Simón, lecturer at the Faculty of Law at UIC Barcelona and member of the RESCAT-2030 research group, was a speaker at two international conferences during the first half of 2025. Both events brought together legal experts to explore the regulatory challenges posed by technological innovation and intellectual property across various sectors.
On 9 April, Dr Simón took part in the 4th International Conference on “Artificial Intelligence and Data Protection”, organised by the Ibero-American Interuniversity Research Network for Legal Dialogue between Europe and the Americas (REDIJEA), in collaboration with the Universities of Girona and Almería, and UNED. Held online, the event brought together academics and professionals to discuss the legal implications of artificial intelligence in the management of personal data.
Earlier in the year, on 6 and 7 March, Dr Simón spoke at the 2nd International Conference on Industrial Property and Advertising in the Fashion and Cosmetics Sectors, hosted by Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC) in Madrid. The event welcomed over 160 participants from academia and industry and addressed issues related to the protection of intangible assets and the regulation of marketing strategies in the creative industries.
Dr Simón’s participation in both forums reflects the Faculty of Law’s strong commitment to the critical and up-to-date analysis of the legal transformations currently shaping society.
