Estel Curado, lecturer in the Department of Nursing at UIC Barcelona and doctoral candidate, was presented with the Young Talent SCBI award in the eighth edition of the #TenimTalent Awards organised by the Catalan-Balearic Society of Nursing (SCBI), held on 19 June. This distinction, awarded directly by the SCBI Board, acknowledges her outstanding contribution to the profession and her promise as a future leader in the field.

The award winner described the honour as “a huge boost at this final stage of my thesis” and emphasised the importance of collaboration in her professional environment. “This award is also the result of teamwork, mutual learning and our shared passion for the profession,” Curado added.

Meanwhile, Jenifer Malumbres, who completed her doctorate at UIC Barcelona in 2023, earned the Young Research Talent Award in recognition of her work over ten years at the University as a doctoral student, lecturer and researcher.

The #TenimTalent Awards, established in 2017, aim to identify and celebrate ten young nurses with the ability, attitude and charisma to help shape the future of the profession. Candidates are nominated by professionals or organisations in the sector and assessed on the impact of their work in their area of expertise as well as their overall career.

This success further strengthens UIC Barcelona’s commitment to academic excellence and research, reinforcing its position as a leading institution in nursing development and innovation.
