The Faculty of Law holds closing ceremony for 2024-2025 academic year postgraduate programmes

The event brought together students and professionals from the sector and featured a keynote speech by Josep M. Gascón, who shared his thoughts on values-based leadership with purpose

UIC Barcelona’s Faculty of Law held the closing ceremony for its postgraduate programmes for the 2024–2025 academic year on 1 July.  The event, which brought together students from various programmes, marked the end of the academic year and served to recognise the hard work of the students while also strengthening ties between the university and the professional world.

The ceremony was chaired by the dean of the faculty, Dr Rafael Oliver, and included contributions from the directors of each programme: Dr Alejandra Vargas, director of the Postgraduate Degree in Compliance & Cybersecurity; Alejandro Heredia, partner at Russell Bedford and director of the Postgraduate Degree in Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions; and Jaume Duch, lawyer at Cuatrecasas and director of the Master’s Degree in Legal and Tax Planning and Advice, the Postgraduate Degree in Tax Advice, and the Specialisation Course in Taxation. All three highlighted the importance of specialised legal training with a practical focus, as well as the need for lifelong learning.

The guest speaker, Josep M. Gascón, founding partner of VITAES and an executive with extensive international experience, delivered an inspiring talk centred on purposeful living and values-based leadership.

Dr Oliver closed the ceremony by congratulating the students and thanking the academic partners: CuatrecasasEYRussell BedfordDeloitte and Molins Defensa Penal for their involvement in the development of the programmes.
