Lecturer Xavier Baró reflects upon what we can gain from historical memory based the Spanish and Albanian transitions

The lecturer from the UIC Barcelona Faculty of Humanities spoke at the III International Symposium of Hispanic Literature and Culture organised by the University of Tirana, Ankara University and Istanbul University.

The lecturer from the UIC Barcelona Faculty of Humanities, Xavier Baró, spoke at the III International Symposium of Hispanic Literature and Culture organised by the University of Tirana, Ankara University and Istanbul University.

Baró’s talk titled “Historical memory, a useful tool for coming to terms with the past? A reflection on the cases of Spain and Albania”, questioned whether historical memory can be seen as a tool for reconciliation, based on a comparative study of the Spanish and Albanian transitions.

More than forty experts from the United States, Albania, Turkey, Serbia, Poland and Spain took part in the event, which was held online in order to comply with the restrictions imposed due to the current pandemic.
