LITEIS: Architecture, industry and sustainability in service of urban transformation
On 26 May, the LITEIS Research Group (Laboratory for Technological Innovation in Industrialised and Sustainable Building) brought together professionals and partner companies to present its most prominent projects, along with two new patents soon to be launched on the market: Flexbrick Solar and Onestep by RosaGres
The Consolidated Research Group LITEIS (Laboratory for Technological Innovation in Industrialised and Sustainable Building), linked to UIC Barcelona School of Architecture, has cemented its position as a key player in sustainable construction, urban regeneration, and new industrialised systems in architecture. Its work has focused in particular on designing, testing and patenting building systems that respond to today’s challenges in sustainability, energy efficiency and urban renewal.
A day for sharing results
The session, held on 26 May in the Aula Jardí at UIC Barcelona, provided an opportunity to share and discuss these developments with both the academic and professional communities. Organised by the UIC Barcelona Vice-Rectorate for Research, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer, the event included an introduction to the LITEIS group by its coordinator, Dr Vicente Sarrablo, followed by talks from UIC Barcelona School of Architecture lecturers Dr Felipe Pich-Aguilera, David Masip, Zuha Bari, Dr Cinta Lluís, Dr Josep Lluís Ginovart and Dr Juan Trias de Bes.
The session concluded with the official presentation of the group’s latest patents, Flexbrick Solar and Onestep by RosaGres, by their inventor Dr Vicente Sarrablo, and closing remarks from UIC Barcelona’s director of Research and Knowledge Transfer, Noelia Galán.
With a strong research track record, LITEIS continues to serve as a driving force for architectural innovation and technology transfer within the university setting. The group is coordinated by Dr Vicente Sarrablo and comprises architects and lecturers from UIC Barcelona: Dr Felipe Pich-Aguilera, Dr Juan Trias de Bes, Dr Josep Lluís Ginovart, Dr Víctor Echarri, Dr Pedro Casariego, Dr Jordi Roviras, Dr Ricardo Gómez Val, Zuzana Prochazkova, Cristina Garcia, Dr Alessandra Curreli, Dr Iñigo Ugalde, Dr Oriol Carrasco, Teresa Batlle, Dr Cinta Lluís and Anton Aluja.
