The Maria Pou Foundation renews its agreement with UIC Barcelona for another year in support of the grants programme

The renewal strengthens a shared commitment to higher education and to promoting equal opportunities for young people

UIC Barcelona and the Maria Pou Foundation, promoted by Lunet Facility Services, have renewed their collaboration agreement for another year. The agreement supports the university’s scholarship and financial aid programme for students at risk of social exclusion. It also reaffirms Lunet Facility Services’ commitment to education and to fostering young talent, with the aim of ensuring that students with the ability and drive to succeed are not held back by financial barriers.

The signing ceremony took place on 20 January on the University campus, attended by the rector of UIC Barcelona, Dr Alfonso Méndiz Noguero, and Mr Juan Miguel Carmona on behalf of Lunet Facility Services and the Maria Pou Foundation. They were joined by Mr Lluís Jordana, manager of Emiser, a Social Initiative Special Employment Centre (CETIS) dedicated to supporting the employment of people with disabilities through integrated services and outsourcing; Mr Juan Pablo Garrido, director of Corporate Development at UIC Barcelona; and Ms María Dolores Ponce, head of Corporate Relations at UIC Barcelona.

This yearly renewal expresses the shared intention of the university and the company to create a positive social impact through higher education, supporting initiatives that promote equal opportunities, solidarity, and social cohesion. The collaboration forms part of UIC Barcelona’s grants programme and aligns with the institutional campaign #TalentsWithAFuture, which encourages individuals, companies and organisations to help make university education accessible to talented students.

During the ceremony, Alfonso Méndiz Noguero, the rector of UIC Barcelona, noted that “the sustained commitment of Lunet Facility Services to this programme shows how collaboration between universities and companies can open up tangible opportunities for students”, and he expressed his thanks for the continued support of both the company and the Maria Pou Foundation for the University’s educational mission.

Juan Miguel Carmona added that the initiative reflects the company’s social commitment: “We are convinced of the importance of supporting young people throughout their educational pathways. Through the Maria Pou Foundation, we want to continue contributing to a fairer society with greater opportunities.” With this renewal, Lunet Facility Services reaffirms its dedication to social responsibility and to supporting projects that create a positive and lasting impact.
