The Maria Pou y Lunet Foundation reaffirms its commitment to UIC Barcelona by strengthening the grant programme

Once again, the Maria Pou Foundation, supported by Lunet Facility Services, has renewed the grant that available to students at risk of social exclusion so they can study any degree at UIC Barcelona. With this gesture, Lunet renews the cooperation agreement signed in 2017, and joins the annual UIC Barcelona #NoTallentWithouAFuture campaign to support talented students with economic needs

In a brief meeting on the Barcelona Campus, Juan Miguel Carmona, CEO of Lunet Facility Services, presented the donation to the rector, Alfonso Méndiz on behalf of the University. As he presented the donation, Carmona emphasised “what a privilege it is for the Maria Pou y Lunet Foundation to renew its aid to UIC Barcelona students in special situations.”

On behalf of UIC Barcelona, the rector thanked the Foundation and highlighted “the commitment” that Lunet Facility Services has always shown to the University project. “The role of businesses in society,” the rector said, “goes beyond an income statement. With this gesture, the Foundation and Lunet are an example of the backbone role that an organisation can provide for people.”

Since its inception, Lunet’s mission is that of an organisation committed to people, hallmark validated by one of its solidarity initiatives, Lunet Solidario.

Over the past five years, numerous students, such as Nadia, who is studying Journalism, or Jamal, who is studying Dentistry, have benefitted from this grant.
