The projects of the students Alin Birisan and Claudia Blanes, finalists in the CevisamaLab 2025

UIC Barcelona School of Architecture students Alin Birisan and Claudia Blanes have been selected in the ceramic design competition of the Emerging Talents Contest aimed at design and architecture students as part of CevisamaLab 2025.

With her proposal Cerámica Trombe, student Claudia Blanes redefines the use of ceramics by integrating them as an active element within bioclimatic strategies. She has developed a system of laminated porcelain panels that take advantage of solar radiation to regulate air temperatures efficiently and sustainably. Designed both for new constructions and for the rehabilitation of existing façades, this system offers a functional and aesthetic solution that meets sustainability demands of the 21st century.

The other student finalist, Alin Birisan has presented Look Up, an inverted umbrella system that can be adjusted to a wide variety of environments and architectural functions. The system is based on modular and prefabricated components that improve the construction process by reducing assembly times and related costs.

The competition is in collaboration with the Design Foundation of Valencia, the Association of Designers of Valencia (ADCV), the Association of Interior Designers of Valencia (CDICV) and the Territorial College of Architects of Valencia (CTAV).
