Seven work camps receive funding thanks to UIC Barcelona’s Cooper Plan

For yet another year, UIC Barcelona made a series of social commitment grants available to development cooperation activities. These grants represent 0.7% of the University's research and knowledge transfer agreements. A total of seven work camps were awarded funding through this year’s call.

The projects for which grants were requested are one of the tools in place to support the involvement of members of the university community in initiatives that help uphold the university’s social commitment, one of UIC Barcelona’s defining missions. This call is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the UN General Assembly (2030 Agenda).

This year’s grant-winning projects consist of work camps at the following destinations:

—Guatemala (project co-organised by UIC Barcelona and the cultural association Ateneu Universitari París)

—Uganda (project organised by the ADESCI Foundation)

—Lebanon (project organised by the Gausac Cultural Association)

—Ivory Coast (project organised by Col·legi Major Bonaigua)

—Kenya (project organised by Col·legi Major Monterols)

—Philippines (project organised by the NGO Cooperación Internacional)

—Senegal (project organised by the NGO Fassulo).
