Six students from the Chinese University of Hong Kong undertake an academic exchange at UIC Barcelona

As part of the exchange programme with the Master of Arts in Cultural Management at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), 10 students and two graduates from UIC Barcelona will travel to Hong Kong from 12–19 July, further strengthening the collaboration that began the previous academic year

Six students from the Master of Arts in Cultural Management at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) spent a week at UIC Barcelona from 18–22 May as part of an academic exchange with the UIC Barcelona University’s Master’s Degree in Cultural Management.

During their time in Barcelona, the visiting students attended a range of sessions on the master’s programme and took part in a masterclass on the BOCA Festival held last Tuesday. They also joined two urban walks around the city, exploring the history and the urban transformation of Barcelona and its neighbourhoods from the perspective of culture and its cultural facilities.

The visit proved highly rewarding for both the visiting group and UIC Barcelona students, creating space for meaningful exchange and offering fresh international perspectives on cultural management.

Fan Tsz Kiu Kiko, a CUHK student, highlighted the value of the shared experience: “Thank you very much for making this possible. I have learnt a great deal about Barcelona’s culture, which has greatly enriched my understanding and broadened my horizons. I am especially grateful for the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with students.”

Chen Zikai, also a student from CUHK, described the experience as “a wonderful journey” and said they will always remember “the blue Barcelona” they encountered during their stay.

The exchange will continue in July, when UIC Barcelona students travel to Hong Kong as part of a joint study extension programme with CUHK, further consolidating a partnership that has become an important international link for both institutions.
