On 25 October, paediatric dentists from the University Dental Clinic at UIC Barcelona visited Pureza de María School in Sant Cugat to give pupils their dental check-ups at school. 

 

The team consisted of professors and students from the bachelor’s degree and postgraduate degree programmes in the Faculty of Dentistry, led by Dr Anna Veloso, paediatric dentist and lecturer/professor on the master’s degree in Paediatric Dentistry that is directed by Dr Francisco Guinot. The University Dental Clinic professionals checked the dental health of children in year 3 and year 5 of the Primary school. 

 

Along with the check-ups, the visit was also complemented by educational talks prepared by the Faculty of Dentistry dentists, particularly aimed at children, to raise awareness of the importance of looking after their mouth.  The prevention programme will continue with sporadic check-ups for Pureza de María School pupils.
