Tiziana Di Ciommo, new director of the Procedural Law Area, UIC Barcelona Faculty of Law

After ten years working as an associate lecturer at UIC, the jurist and holder of a PhD in Law has joined the teaching team this academic year as a tenured lecturer and has taken on the new position as director

Tiziana Di Ciommo has been appointed tenured lecturer at UIC Barcelona and director of the Procedural Law Area of the Faculty of Law, after ten years teaching as associate lecturer. Di Ciommo combines her teaching activity with her professional activity as director of the Litigation & Insolvency Department of the PwC firm. She has also been named Best Lawyer again in the 2023 edition, in the specialty of Litigation and has been elected as the new president of the Procedural Law Section of the Barcelona Bar Association (ICAB).

PhD in Law, with special mention of and European Doctorate and highest academic qualification summa cum laude from Pompeu Fabra University, she has vast experience both professional and in teaching, has throughout her professional career taken important institutional positions in the legal field, and has also taught at prestigious universities. 

With this new stage as head of the Procedural Law Area at UIC Barcelona, Dr Di Ciommo consolidates her academic career, in which she stands out for her quality of teaching and her scientific production: “This new position is a real challenge in a context characterised by the recent approval by the Council of Ministers of the draft laws on procedural efficiency, organisational efficiency and digital efficiency. Approval, in this case, of these rules would undoubtedly constitute a crucial impulse in the process of transforming the current system into a more efficient, agile and sustainable model of justice, in line with the 2030 Justice Plan,” the jurist assured.
