UIC Barcelona is among the 15 best Spanish universities and excels in Dentistry, Nursing and Medicine, according to the CYD ranking

The Knowledge and Development Foundation (CYD) has published the results of the CYD 2024 Ranking. In the 11th edition, UIC Barcelona remains among the 15 best Spanish universities for its large number of high performance indicators, and shares 13th position of 81 Spanish universities with another university, after obtaining 17 high performance indicators of the 36 that evaluate institutional performance. At the same time, it stands out again in the category of “Contribution to Regional Development”, occupying 3rd position along with five other universities, for its high performance in publications and regional research funds, among other indicators.

In this edition, within fields of knowledge, the CYD ranking has updated the results of courses in the fields of Health Sciences: Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Psychology and, new to the CYD Ranking this year, Physiotherapy.

With regard to knowledge, UIC Barcelona stands out for its great number of high performance indicators in the fields of Dentistry, ranking 1st out of 17 universities; Nursing, in 2nd position of 47 universities, and Medicine, occupying 9th position of 38 Spanish universities.

In this 11th edition, the CYD ranking continues to grow, presenting results from 81 Spanish universities, 30 areas of knowledge and 3,407 degree programmes. Participating universities represent 91% of the 89 teaching bachelor’s degree courses that are included in the Register of Universities, Centres and Qualifications (RUCT). Of these universities, 48 are public (100% are represented) and 33 private (80.5% of the total).

The CYD Foundation ranking is a tool that allows the quality of the Spanish university system to be measured and compared through the analysis of indicators, classified by performance groups and grouped into six dimensions: “Teaching and Learning”; “Research”; “Knowledge Transfer”; “International Outlook”; “Contribution to Regional Development” and “Employability”.

The objective of the UIC Barcelona Statistical Data and Rankings Office is to measure the performance of the different aspects of the University through data and evidence, allowing it to be visible both nationally and internationally through the social impact produced by rankings and listings.
