UIC Barcelona consolidates its position in Dentistry & Oral Sciences and improves productivity and research internationality in the Shanghai Ranking by subjects

The Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC Barcelona) has consolidated its position in the ShanghaiRanking’s. Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2023 (GRAS) in the field of Dentistry & Oral Sciences and has improved its position in two of the indicators: number of publications per subject and international collaboration in publications. Both of these metrics measure the productivity and research internationality of the university within this field.

In regard to international collaboration in publications, UIC Barcelona is in first place at national level, ahead of the Complutense University. As for overall results, UIC Barcelona is again in the =151-200 section of 300 universities worldwide, and it is in position =3 of 8 nationally, together with the University of Granada.

In this 2023 edition, this ranking includes a total of 300 universities worldwide in the field of Dentistry & Oral Sciences and analyses the universities that have published a certain number of publications between 2018 and 2022. The minimum number of publications in this field is 50. Bibliometric data are collected from the Web of Science and InCites.

The ranking uses the following indicators to measure university performance: number of publications per subject; impact of citations per subject; international collaboration in publications; number of articles published in prestigious journals and the number of award-winning researchers.

At national level, UIC Barcelona retains its position within the 8 Spanish universities, and is the only private university that is classified in the ShanghaiRanking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2023 (GRAS) in the field of Dentistry & Oral Sciences within the area of medical sciences.
