UIC Barcelona hosts the 2025 ENCATC Congress as part of the University Master's Degree in Cultural Management
Under the title The Future Is Cultural: Policy, Practice and Education, the Barcelona Campus brought together leading scholars, researchers and managers from the world of culture
On 16 September, UIC Barcelona, within the framework of the Faculty of Humanities’ University Master's Degree in Cultural Management, played host to the 2025 ENCATC Congress, one of the most important international congresses in cultural management and policies. During the event, this year entitled The Future Is Cultural: Policy, Practice and Education, industry experts and professionals gathered on the Barcelona Campus to discuss issues such as cultural policy, practice and education and how they can lay the groundwork for regenerative futures.

As part of the congress, Marta Crispí and Blanca Reguant, teaching and research staff in the Faculty of Humanities at UIC Barcelona, presented the research project Artistic Season Planning, an example of ways in which the University promotes innovation in cultural management.
Furthermore, the director of Promotion and Admissions at UIC Barcelona, Raquel Peula, took part in the academic programme with the lecture “The Dichotomy of Travel Courses in the Digital Age”.

The director of the University Master's Degree in Cultural Management, Christoph Pasour, for his part, spoke during the event’s scientific sessions, strengthening the role of the master’s degree in designing the congress and rendering it more dynamic.
The 2025 ENCATC Congress brought cultural researchers, scholars and managers from a host of different countries to UIC Barcelona, turning the campus into a forum for debate on education, sustainability, digitalisation and cultural policies.
The event’s opening address was delivered by the rector of UIC Barcelona, Alfonso Méndiz, who welcomed participants and stressed the importance of opening the University up to international forums that contribute to excellence and sustainability in cultural management.
