UIC Barcelona hosts working session to advance the project “Sant Cugat University City”

The meeting, held on 18 February on the Sant Cugat Campus, helped define the initiative’s strategic lines and make progress towards the creation of the future University Council as part of the BIVA project

Event participants included members of the Sant Cugat Municipal CouncilCarme Ardid, councillor for Education, Universities and Multiculturalism, and Esther Salat– as well as representatives from the university centres in Sant Cugat – Elisa Sanagustín, on behalf of UIC Barcelona, Antonio Delgado for ESADE and Ferran Buixaderas for the Gimbernat University Schools (EUG)

During the working session, the main lines of action for the project were set: the creation of a map of the university presence in the city, the consolidation of a stable institutional relationship between the Municipal Council and the universities – through the University Council, which will ensure the continuity of the initiative, and the signing of agreements – the promotion of university community participation in local life and the organisation of joint events and activities.

The “Sant Cugat University City” project is part of the BIVA (Barcelona Innovation Valley Area) strategy, under which knowledge and innovation emerge as key drivers of territorial development.
