UIC Barcelona School of Architecture students present their TFGs at the Rei Martí Underground Reservoir
On 21 and 22 October, students in their final year at the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture presented their Bachelor’s Degree Final Projects (TFGs) at the Rei Martí Underground Reservoir in Barcelona, as part of a public event which brought together teaching staff, architects and professionals.
Under the title “A New Vision for Creativity: Reimagining the Process of Architectural Design”, the aim of the initiatives was to rethink the process of architectural design from a more open and sensory perspective. The students experimented with creative methodologies that connect architecture to music and literature and incorporated technical and collaborative aspects through projects linked to lines of research and agreements with industry companies.
The TFGs inspired in music and literature were supervised by architects and teaching staff members María Barcina, Patrícia Tamayo, Alberto Burgos and Josep Miàs, while the research projects were conducted under the guidance of Pere Vall, Felipe Pich-Aguilera and Juan Trias de Bes.
Members of the jury included Miquel Lacasta (guest participant and class patron), along with fellow architects María Barcina, Patrícia Tamayo, Alberto Burgos, Josep Miàs, Pere Vall, Felipe Pich-Aguilera, Juan Trias de Bes and Íñigo Ugalde.
The projects explored topics such as sustainability, accessibility and energy efficiency and reflected the innovative and creative vocation characteristic of future architects shaped at UIC Barcelona.
