UIC Barcelona welcomes 215 exchange students from 30 countries this academic year
On 3 and 4 September, UIC Barcelona hosted welcome sessions for international students joining the university for the first semester or the full 2025–2026 academic year
This year, 215 exchange students from 30 different countries have arrived at the Barcelona and Sant Cugat campuses. To help them settle in, the International Relations Service organised a dedicated induction day designed to support students from day one and enrich their academic and cultural experience.
Two workshops were held during the event: “Catalan for Dummies”, focused on Catalan language and culture, and “Meet your buddy”, aimed at helping students get to know one another. During their first few days, students also took part in other activities, including a treasure hunt through the city centre, which offered a fun and group-based way to discover Barcelona.
As part of these activities, students were introduced to the Buddy Programme, an initiative that encourages participation in multicultural events, helps build new friendships, supports the development of interpersonal skills, and promotes integration into the university community.
