The UIC Barcelona will host the Doctor Honoris Causa Investiture Ceremony for Dr Verónica Boix Mansilla and Dr Paul Aaron Levi

The ceremony will take place on 28 October at 12 p.m. in the Aula Magna lecture theatre on the Barcelona Campus

On Thursday 28 October, the University will host the Doctor Honoris Causa Investiture Ceremony for Dr Verónica Boix Mansilla, researcher from Harvard Graduate School of Education and recognised around the world in the field of global competence and interdisciplinary education; and Dr Paul Aaron Levi, professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and Harvard School of Dental Medicine and pioneer in demonstrating the connection between oral health and general health.

The ceremony, which will be held in person and respect all protocols and anti-COVID measures, is scheduled to take place at 12 p.m. in the Aula Magna lecture theatre on the Barcelona Campus.

The event will officially open with the reading of appointments of the two Doctors Honoris Causa by Belén Castro, general secretary of the University.

Following this, Dr Esther Jiménez vice-rector of the University Community will read the laudatio for Verónica Boix Mansilla, and Dr Lluís Giner, dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, will read the laudatio for Dr Paul Aaron Levi.

The investiture ceremony will be followed by the acceptance speech of admittance to the teaching body by the new Doctor Honoris Causas and, finally, Alfonso Méndiz, Honourable Rector of the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, will close the ceremony with a few words of welcome to the teaching body.

The seating capacity will be limited to comply with COVID-19 measures, and as such, the event will also be streamed live on ZOOM.
