The UICHumanitats+ platform has arrived, a digital project developed by teachers and students of the Faculty of Humanities

The website hosts a selection of the best projects by students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities and Cultural Studies of the University.  The initiative is supported by the 5th Puig Foundation Grant in Teaching Innovation awarded by the Puig Foundation

UICHumanitats+ is a publicly accessible digital platform that hosts a selection of the best projects by UIC Barcelona Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities students in the following subjects: Digital Humanities, Museums and their Meanings, Literary Genres II and Catalan Art. The project began this March with some very interesting proposals, and new content will be added to the platform year after year.

The initiative was developed thanks to the 5th Puig Foundation Grant in Teaching Innovation of June last year. This grant is aimed at projects that pursue teaching excellence by improving student learning processes and teaching quality in the university environment. The initiative is a proposal of the Faculty of Humanities lecturers Marta Crispí, Jordi Bermejo, Anna Pou and Blanca Reguant, as part of the “Active teaching methodologies to develop digital competence in the Humanities” project.

UICHumanitats+ is a decided commitment by the Faculty to highlight the talent, creativity and innovative potential, as well as the curriculum vitae of Humanities students, in a society that is ever more digital. “We believe that digital professionals, highly qualified and endowed with a solid humanistic background will be better able to respond to the needs of a society in which creative culture is an increasingly central support,” said Dr Crispí.

UICHumanitats+ and its cultural content can be consulted online with proposals as interesting as the “Les capelles marianes a la Catedral de Girona” podcast or B(AR)CELONA, an augmented reality app project for the city of Barcelona.
