UNICAT Ambassador Nicolau Huistra Puig attends a seminar in Brussels on opportunities within European institutions

Audiovisual Communication student Nicolau Huistra Puig travelled to Brussels to take part in the seventh training seminar on employment and work placement opportunities in European institutions, organised for students in the UNICAT Ambassadors programme.

The initiative, coordinated by the Consell Interuniversitari de Catalunya of the Department of Research and Universities and supported by the Delegation of the Government of Catalonia to the European Union, brought together students from several Catalan universities with the aim of gaining first-hand insight into the range of professional pathways available within the European sphere.

During their visit, participants toured institutions such as the European Parliament and attended information sessions on recruitment processes in the EU, including a meeting with the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO).

“These are the experiences that shape us and mark important steps in life. I have been surrounded by a hardworking, ambitious, respectful and determined group of people with initiative from many different places,” explained Nicolau Huistra. The student from the Faculty of Communication Sciences also reflected on the cultural diversity of the event: “You find yourself in an environment where other people’s viewpoints challenge your own, alongside many young individuals who are eager to take initiative and drive meaningful change,” he added.

UNICAT ambassadors are responsible for promoting information on European employment and internship opportunities within their universities. Their work aims to broaden the employability prospects of university students in Catalonia and to encourage internationally oriented professional pathways.

Created in 2017, the UNICAT Ambassadors Programme serves as a bridge between European institutions and students interested in pursuing a professional career within the European Union.
