Wintecare and UIC Barcelona drive the development of new technologies in the field of physiotherapy

Both institutions renew their commitment to continue their research, developing new technologies in the field of instrumental physiotherapy to improve patient quality of life

After three years of fruitful collaboration, the UIC Barcelona Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and Wintecare, a Swiss company with established experience in the field of instrumental physiotherapy, have renewed the collaboration agreement signed in 2022. Both entities are committed to the generation of knowledge and its transfer to society and have united once again to delve into the development of new therapies that will improve healthcare services, as well as the rehabilitation of both elderly patients and athletes.

The new agreement continues the “Multi-systemic rehabilitation approach” research project, carried out by researchers from the University’s Department of Medicine, led by Dr Jacobo Rodríguez Sanz. Focused on understanding the degree of deepening of capacitive-resistive electric transfer (CRET) therapy in the human body, the project expands its scope of research along three lines: rehabilitation of people with frailty, directed by Sergi Rodríguez Rodríguez; rehabilitation of athletes, directed by Maxim Canet Vintró; and implementation in healthcare services, directed by Dr Carlos López de Celis.

As a novelty, UIC Barcelona and Wintecare will promote a training course on CRET technology and its use in the field of medical and physiotherapeutic rehabilitation, prepared and taught by university lecturers and based on up-to-date scientific evidence.
