Introduction


Presentation This subject aims to integrate research into the learning of pediatric dentistry and give it the importance it deserves. In this subject, the scientific literature (format and content) and other types of documentation, bibliographic references, Vancouver standards, the impact factor of scientific journals, obtaining documents (university bibliographic resources) and the bibliographic databases.

Objectives

The objectives are: to promote student collaboration in the different lines of research, both at the bibliographic, laboratory and clinical level; and together with the professors of the master's degree, promote the preparation of scientific papers, for the publication of articles and presentation of national and international papers. 

Competences/Learning outcomes of the degree programme

Competences - Obtain the ability to apply the scientific method, and apply the knowledge acquired in solving problems in a scientific field. - Carry out the field study of the research protocol developed in the first year. - Know how to communicate rigorously and based on current scientific literature the results of your research. 

Learning outcomes of the subject

Learning outcomes - The student will have made different participations in national and international congresses. - The student will have written a scientific article in order to be published in a journal indexed by the JCR. - The student will have carried out their research work and will have presented the results in a scientific and rigorous way.

Contents There are no specific contents but the tutorials will depend on the research topic of each student.

The student's work will be evaluated continuously throughout the course. The student must meet the dates established at the beginning of the course for the submission of the work. The final grade of the oral presentation of the research work will be added to this continuous evaluation grade.

EVALUATION SYSTEMS

1 Continuous assessment (EC)

Continuous assessment (EC): It assesses and evaluates the student's learning process based on

continuous monitoring of the work they do, through the submission of reports, oral presentations,

taking tests, etc. It allows to have knowledge of

the evolution of the students, to offer them feedback, mainly evaluating the acquisition of

learning outcomes of the Skill type

Weighting 60%

2 Final work (TF)

Final work (TF): Presentation of a written final work, in which the

knowledge acquired in a subject or in a research project is synthesized and deepened.

Weighting 40%

Attendance is mandatory. Only excused absences due to serious illness, accident or death of a first or second degree relative will be considered excused. In the event of an excused absence, proof of absence must be submitted to the responsible professor within a maximum period of one week (by email).

Unjustified absence from two or more laboratory practices will result in failure, and the student will have to make up this part of the course in an extraordinary session.

The class will be graded with a zero in the following cases:

If the student does not attend without justification or arrives more than 15 minutes late.

If the student's attitude or the quality of the work is deficient.

If the student lacks respect for the professors or support staff.

If the student disrupts good coexistence in the laboratory.
