Introduction
The course Multimedia Recording and Editing Techniques introduces students to the equipment booking system and to the use of the facilities and equipment for video and audio recording and editing, including the television studio, radio studios, and post-production suites. This is a practice-oriented course designed to ensure that students acquire the fundamental technical skills in audiovisual recording and editing from their first year, preparing them to undertake more advanced courses and professional projects in subsequent years.

Objectives
- To understand and operate the facilities and equipment used in audiovisual production, both during the recording and post-production stages.
- To understand and practise the processes, tasks, and roles involved in audiovisual production, both in the television studio and on location or in other indoor settings.
- To master the main video and audio editing software applications.
- To use and integrate visual and audio resources effectively.
- To develop aesthetic judgement and a personal style in the design of audiovisual productions.
- To develop personal creativity based on a solid technical foundation.
Syllabus
VIDEO BLOCK
- To become familiar with the television studio, the radio studios, and the equipment booking system.
- To become familiar with the equipment and software used for audiovisual recording and editing, as well as the equipment booking system. Available equipment: camera (model), tripod, handheld microphone, XLR cable, lavalier microphone, and headphones.
- To operate a professional video camera.
- To understand the different camera shot types.
- To learn the fundamentals of video and audio editing using Adobe Premiere.
- To import and organise recorded footage, to export completed projects, and to prepare files in the appropriate delivery formats.
AUDIO BLOCK
- To become familiar with the radio studios and the equipment booking system.
- To become familiar with the equipment and software used for audio recording and editing.
- To record voice and music.
- To learn the fundamentals of audio editing using Adobe Audition.
- To import and organise recorded and edited audio, to export completed projects, and to prepare files in the appropriate delivery formats.
