The University moves up positions in the prestigious international ranking QS World University Ranking by Subject, occupying position 46 of the 100 universities classified worldwide and, nationally, position 2 of the 3 universities classified.

Atrápalo and UIC Barcelona present a report, carried out by Anna Carballo, a lecturer on the Psychology degree at UIC Barcelona, in which they analyse more than 100 studies carried out in different countries, correlating leisure time and activities with higher levels of physical health, psychological wellbeing and life expectancy.

Barcelona, 25 March 2024 - The international congress "Nursing Education for a Sustainable Future: Challenges and Opportunities", promoted by the Department of Nursing of the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC Barcelona) and the European Federation of Educators in Nursing Sciences (FINE), has ended with successful participation and attendance during the two days of the meeting.

Experts in nursing education and practice have called for the promotion of educational environments with critical thinking in nursing studies with the aim of fostering leadership among future professionals, in the framework of the international FINE congress 'Nursing Education for a Sustainable Future: Challenges and Opportunities', which is being held today and tomorrow at the Sant Cugat Campus of UIC Barcelona.

Barcelona, 18 March 2024 - The Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC Barcelona) is once again among the ten Spanish universities with the highest number of students who pass the cut-off mark for the MIR, according to data published by the Ministry of Health's Specialised Health Training Management Service.

It achieves its historical maximum, according to the latest 2023 job placement survey by AQU Catalunya. The University has 4,700 internship agreements that facilitate student integration into the job market. UIC Barcelona participates once again in the Education Fair, where it presents its academic offer: 16 degrees, over 15 double degrees, and 38 international double degrees.

More than 70 people have participated in the event hosted by UIC Barcelona, organized by the prestigious international association CASE. On 21 and 22 March, the International University of Catalonia (UIC Barcelona) will host the new edition of the FINE international congress "Nursing Education for a Sustainable Future: Challenges and Opportunities". For two days, the Sant Cugat Campus will bring together educators, students and clinicians from different countries of the European Union to share their experiences and debate on the future of nursing education in Europe from a sustainability perspective.

The study, carried out by UIC Barcelona's Atypical cyclins group, also shows that overexpression of this atypical cyclin produces larger breast tumours in animal models. The results of the report, published in the journal Molecular Oncology, open up new therapeutic approaches for the treatment of these cancers

The 20th edition of the Barcelona Ceramics Chair has recognised the use of ceramics for the capture of solar energy in construction. The Aula Jardí of the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC Barcelona) was the setting for this edition’s final adjudication which was held on the theme of  "Ceramics and Solar Capture in Architecture".
 

Brazadas, a documentary on ALS produced by UIC Barcelona, is competing in the sport and society section for three different awards: Guirlande d'Honneur 2023, Mention d'Honneur 2023 and Special Awards 2023.

The study, carried out by UIC Barcelona and the University of Navarra, analyzes the four main European leagues (La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and Premier League) and determines that the lower the percentage of salary expenditure with respect to total revenue (WWR), the better the performance of the clubs.

Peri-implant diseases are oral infections that consist of inflammation of the tissue surrounding dental implants and are very common among the population. A study by the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya and the Dentaid Research Center concludes that oral biofilm control remains the best option to avoid these diseases.
