Implant-prosthetics is currently a very common part of a dentist’s daily work.

This course is intended for professionals who are familiar with basic implant-prosthetic terminology and who have performed or perform prosthetic implants and want to update or improve their knowledge of implant-prosthetic rehabilitation.

Course objectives

  • To provide the necessary knowledge to undertake the diagnosis, treatment plan and grounding for step-by-step development of the different stages involved in performing implant-prothetics
  • To know the different types of implant prosthetics that can be performed and solutions for compromised cases.

Competences the student will acquire

The student should be able to know the different types of implant-prosthetics and the necessary steps to take to perform treatment and obtain a successful outcome.


Prospective students

The course is aimed at general dental practitioners and stomatologists to increase about the acknowledgment in prosthetic implantology.

Thursday morning: 10-2 p.m

Impresions and temporistation (Dr Rosario Cedeño)

  • To learn to make impressions in complex cases due to position and number of implants.
  • To learn to make impressions using digital systems.
  • To design, plan and select the immediate or delayed loading temporary implants that best suit the various types of permanent prostheses.
  • To transmit information to the laboratory through the temporary prosthesis.
  • Importance of the temporary prosthesis in making impressions.

Duration: 4 hours (including break) 

Thursday afternoon: 3 p.m.- 7 p.m.

Single and partial prostheses (Dr Raul Medina)

  • Three-dimensional positioning of single implants
  • Types of connections
  • Prosthetic attachments
  • Tripod configuration
  • Single crowns and screw, cement and screw/cement-retained bridges
  • Transmit the information to the laboratory through the provisional
  • Clinical tests
  • Joining teeth and implants

Duration: 4 hours (Including break) 

Friday morning and afternoon: (from  10-2 p.m. and 3 p.m to 7 p.m)

Complete fixed prostheses and overdentures (Dr Oriol Cantó)

  • Biomechanics
  • Diagnostic wax-up
  • Types of complete fixed prostheses
  • Transition from the temporary to permanent prosthesis
  • Clinical tests
  • CAD-CAM Clinic and laboratory

Duration: 8 hours (including break)


Saturday morning:  10 p.m.-2 p.m.

Materials for implant-supported rehabilitations. Overdentures (Dr Oriol Cantó)

  • Rehabilitative materials for unit, partial and complete prostheses: Cr-Co, Ti, Zr, fibra carbon, fiberglass, lithium disilicate, hybrid composites…
  • Overdentures: indications, types of retention anchors, clinical steps.

Duration: 4 hours (including break)


Saturday afternoon:  4 p.m.-8 p.m.


Complications and maintenance (Dr Francisco Real)

  • Occlusion
  • Know through various clinical cases the complications that may occur during the execution and evolution of prostheses on implants
  • Emphasize the importance of the correct design of the prostheses to avoid diseases peri-implant
  • Show different means of plaque control and prostheses hygiene on implants
