Reasons to study this master’s degree
- Booming sector
The health services sector in the 21st century is one of the areas undergoing
the greatest change and innovation. Of particular note are the technological advances
with the incorporation of specific applications of technologies for the improvement of
diagnostic imaging, minimally invasive interventions, therapeutics and management. - Rotation in units
Different international guidelines recommend learning through rotations in
leading units, as well as both theoretical and practical training in the technique At UIC
Barcelona, we provide an academic, practical and educational response to the growing
demand for learning this endoscopic technique. - Teaching Staff
This programme is run by a leading team in the field of digestive system and
endoscopy and focuses on personalised learning. The individual tutorials, given by a
teaching team made up of recognised experts in echo-endoscopy, guarantee continuous
support adapted to your needs.
You will be trained through a practical foundation based on knowledge from different medical specialities
The emergence of this advanced digestive endoscopy technique has posed a significant training challenge within the medical community. The learning process of this technique, as offered in the course by UIC Barcelona, includes knowledge from various medical specialties — such as gastroenterology, oncology, general and digestive surgery, and radiology — as well as a specific study of echo-anatomy and practical sessions in a leading unit under the guidance of a recognised mentor.
You will therefore acquire the theoretical and practical foundations required to perform endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) through virtual classes, clinical cases, seminars, forums, videos, simulation exercises, and supervised live demonstrations. This course is designed for medical professionals who wish to take a step forward in their specialisation and professional development in this advanced digestive endoscopy technique.
They explain it to you
This specialisation course will provide you with regulated academic training that is practical and useful for mastering one of the most complex and demanding digestive endoscopy techniques: Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS). The programme includes practical training in leading tertiary university hospitals and offers high-quality education with qualified instructors who are experts in the technique and have over a decade of experience in teaching

Presentation
The University Specialisation Course in Digestive Endoscopic Ultrasound is the training you need because:
- You will acquire the theoretical and practical foundations for performing EUS through virtual classes, clinical cases, seminars, forums, videos, simulation exercises, and live, tutor-led practical demonstrations. The different international guidelines (European-ESGE; American-ASGE) discourage self-learning, recommending rotation in leading units and the completion of specialised courses, although the availability of these courses is limited.
- It is carried out at the Sant Cugat Campus of UIC Barcelona, a leading university in the training of healthcare professionals.
- You will complete 15 days of practical training at the facilities of Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge, Hospital Mútua de Terrassa, Hospital Santa Creu i Sant Pau, and Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol.
- The teaching staff consists of leading experts in the field of digestive health and endoscopy.
Objectives
Acquire the theoretical and practical foundations through virtual classes, clinical cases, seminars, forums, videos, simulation exercises, practical demonstrations, and tutored sessions, for physicians who wish to take a step forward in their specialisation and professional development in this advanced digestive endoscopy technique.
