“Carlos Pujol (1936-2012), a contemporary humanist”

Carlos Pujol (1936-2012) was a poet, novelist, translator, editor, literary critic, literary historian and permanent member of the jury for the Planeta Prize.  He was a Professor at the Faculty of Humanities at UIC Barcelona (1997-2007) and member of the Academic University Committee in the same faculty. 

Recently his family donated his personal archive to UIC Barcelona, which has been used to set up the Carlos Pujol Personal Archive.

The aim behind the research project entitled “Carlos Pujol (1936-2012), a contemporary humanist” is to encourage research and dissemination related to the work of Carlos Pujol.  On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of his death, a conference in homage to him has been organised for 16-17 January next year, at UIC Barcelona. Renowned writers, literary critics, editors and journalists will attend this event.

Objectives

  1. To promote research on the work and reception of Carlos Pujol
  2. Collect and disseminate all available documentation about the author
