Dentistry will offer a double degree with the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in the USA

Starting next year, the School of Dentistry will offer a double degree continuity program with the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in Newark (New Jersey, United States). Rutgers is a state educational institution with several regional campuses and a strong presence in the field of health sciences. Specifically, Rutgers School of Dental Medicine is the only dental school in New Jersey.

This agreement establishes an international and collaborative program that will allow students to obtain the double bachelor’s degree in Dentistry (BDS), and the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 7 academic years.

Rutgers School of Dental Medicine is one of the few state universities in US that allows foreign dentists to access the Internationally Educated DMD Program, a DMD programme in 2 years and 3 months, thus allowing them to obtain an American diploma and practice dentistry in the United States according to specific state regulations.

Students who meet the admission criteria and complete the Bachelor’s Degree in Dentistry at UIC Barcelona will be able to continue their studies at Rutgers for 27 months, thus obtaining the degree in Dentistry at UIC Barcelona and the equivalent at Rutgers.

To be eligible to study at Rutgers, students must have successfully completed five years at UIC Barcelona and meet the admission requirements, which include having passed the Integrated National Board Dental Examination (INDBE).

This agreement represents an important boost in the internationalisation of UIC Barcelona, which offers a comprehensive education to its students so that they can develop their academic and professional careers, discovering other ways of studying, working and understanding Dentistry, and so that they can also grow on a personal and cultural level.
