Dr Francesc Abella, director of the Master’s Degree in Endodontics, appointed new member of the Membership Committee of the European Society of Endodontology

The director of the University Master’s Degree in Endodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry has joined one of Europe’s leading scientific societies dedicated to advancing the field of endodontics.

This appointment acknowledges his academic, clinical and research trajectory, as well as his commitment to the continued development of the discipline. Through this committee, he will help strengthen the relationship between the European Society of Endodontology (ESE) and postgraduate programmes in endodontics.

As Dr Francesc Abella explains, “My aim in taking on this role is to reinforce the link between the ESE and postgraduate students in endodontics, supporting their active integration into the scientific society.” He adds, “This position also provides an opportunity to support new generations of endodontists by promoting education, scientific engagement and professional excellence.”

His responsibilities will include assessing membership applications from postgraduate students, collaborating with training programmes and taking part in initiatives such as the Emerging Symposium at the ESE biennial congress.

Dr Abella is director of the University Master’s Degree in Endodontics, lecturer in Endodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry and president of the Spanish Society of Conservative and Aesthetic Dentistry (SEOC). His clinical and research activity focuses on areas such as digital endodontics, guided procedures, tooth autotransplantation, restorative and aesthetic dentistry and dental traumatology. He is also the author of numerous international scientific publications and leads research projects centred on technological innovation applied to evidence-based dentistry.
