The University has added Hospital Sanitas CIMA Barcelona to its network of affiliated hospitals following the institution's recognition as a university hospital. As a result, students from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences will be able to complete clinical training at Hospital Sanitas CIMA and at the medical centres within the CIMA Campus. The agreement will also open up new opportunities for collaboration in clinical research.

The integration of teaching, research and clinical activity further strengthens CIMA’s position as a high-complexity hospital in Barcelona by bringing together specialised care, practical training and research within a single environment. Through this new partnership with Campus CIMA Barcelona, UIC is expanding its network of affiliated teaching hospitals across Catalonia.

Through the UIC Health ecosystem, we want our students to engage with the realities of healthcare from the very beginning of their studies, learn alongside practising professionals and develop a comprehensive understanding of health. In this way, we prepare highly skilled, rigorous and people-centred professionals who are equipped to respond to today’s challenges and help shape the healthcare systems of the future,” said Rector Alfonso Méndiz.

Partnerships with hospitals across the region

The addition of Hospital Sanitas CIMA Barcelona to the University's network of affiliated healthcare institutions, which already includes Hospital Universitari General de Catalunya, Hospital General de Granollers, Consorci Sanitari de Terrassa and EAP Sardenya, strengthens the University's presence across the region and reinforces its ties with the healthcare system in Barcelona.
