Rafael Entrena Cuesta, former member of the UIC Barcelona University Advisory Board, has died

The jurist and professor of Administrative Law at the University of Barcelona passed away on 1 January at the age of 92 

Dr. Rafael Entrena was a leading point of reference for jurists everywhere. He began his professorship at the University of Barcelona at the age of 28 and had a long and decorated career in the field of administrative law.

He was appointed Doctor of Law by the University of Bologna. At the University of Barcelona, he was dean and vice-dean of the Faculty of Law, as well as general secretary and member of the University Board of Trustees. He was also a promoting member of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Ramon Llull University and Universitat Internacional de Catalunya.

Entrena was president of the Spanish Association of Administrative Sciences, member of the governing body of the Public Administration School of Catalonia, member of the Tax Council and president of the Italian-Spanish Association of Professors of Administrative Law, leaving behind a great legacy in his field. During his professional life, he worked on issues related to public procurement, territorial organisation, the legal regime, public service, property liability, the public domain and, above all, the concept of administrative law.
