Recognition of the Carlos Pujol, Literature and Humanism Research Group

The recognition will be valid for three years and helps consolidate the project.

UIC Barcelona’s Carlos Pujol, Literature and Humanism Research Group (SGR 2017-383) was recently awarded recognition as an emerging research group by the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU).

Recognition as an emerging research group will be valid for three years and helps consolidate the project, though has no monetary compensation. The objective of this group is to give visibility to the work of Carlos Pujol (1936-2012), a multifaceted 20th-century humanist, poet, novelist, essayist, literary critic, translator, editor and jury member for several major literary awards.

In this regard, the group’s first step has been to analyse his creations on the basis of literary thought, organise his poetry into an organic system and promote his figure in cultural circles and the publishing world. The group is also responsible for safeguarding, cataloguing and studying Carlos Pujols’ personal archives, a donation from his family to UIC Barcelona.
