Two UIC Barcelona alums win first prize at the Roca One Day Design Challenge with the Hydroskin project

Agustín Ardisana and Juan Gaitán recently took home first prize

Two former UIC Barcelona School of Architecture students, Agustín Ardisana and Juan Gaitán, recently took home first prize at the Roca One Day Design Challenge, a contest which brings together young design talents.

The event, organised by the company Roca, challenges young designers and architects to develop innovative and sustainable bathroom proposals in just 24 hours. In this edition, the two UIC Barcelona School of Architecture alums stood out with their Hydroskin project.

Hydroskin is a flexible and intelligent blanket that adapts to the body like a second skin. It has elastic membranes, water micro-channels and temperature, pressure and tension sensors. The design offers an accessible and universal feeling of weightlessness, transforming the shower into an immerse, human-centred experience.

The panel, comprised of leading industry professionals, assessed the creativity, feasibility and impact of each project.
