UIC Barcelona is once again included in the international Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2023

The institution is among the fifteen best universities in Spain and has ranked 251-300 among the best in the world.

For the third consecutive year, UIC Barcelona has been classified in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings. Worldwide, the university occupies position 251–300 of 605 classified universities, and nationally it occupies the 7-13th position of 32 Spanish universities.
This year, UIC Barcelona has improved its positioning compared to the previous ranking in four of the five pillars that make up the ranking: Citations (+2.4%), Research (+2.5%), Industry Income (+0.5%) and International Outlook (+0.1%).

In view of this ranking, the University is among the top three Spanish universities in terms of ‘International Outlook’ and has also increased its positioning in terms of ‘Citations’ (research influence), occupying sixth place on a national level.

The Young University Rankings provide a ranking of the best universities in the world that were founded in 1973 to the present day, i.e. that are 50 years old or younger. In short, it is an analysis of young universities, the future of universities.

A total of 605 universities were ranked in the 2022 edition, compared to 539 in last year's edition, as 66 new universities were added to the international rankings.

The methodology used in the Young University Rankings is based on the same 13 performance indicators used in the Times Higher Education World University Ranking that measure the different areas that make up the university: teaching, research, citations, industry income and international outlook, adjusting assessments to give less weight to reputation.
