UIC Barcelona participates in the 7th Conference organised by the for University Cooperation Observatory for Development

Mariona Vila, representing the UIC’s Cooperation and Sustainable Development Office, attended the 7th Conference organised by the University Cooperation Observatory for Development. The event was held on 14 December as part of celebrations to mark the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

The 7th Conference organised by the University Cooperation Observatory for Development (OCUD) was held under the tagline “75 years of human rights in a world in crisis: Dignity, freedom and justice for all.” During the event, an attempt was made to reflect and analyse the global crises and challenges reflected in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

In an event aimed at university administrative staff, the focus was placed on the role they play in achieving the objectives of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights—a charter adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948. Mariona Vila, from the Cooperation and Sustainable Development Office, presented a poster on development cooperation actions and social commitment at UIC Barcelona.

This year’s conference was once again well-attended. Together with the round tables, talks were given on how cooperation and solidarity are handled at all the participating universities, as well as their main activities.

The University Cooperation Observatory for Development and the Autonomous University of Madrid jointly organised the conference in coordination with the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE), and the General Directorate of Sustainable Development Policies (DGPOLDES).
