UIC Barcelona shines in the QS Sustainability ranking for its commitment to equality and good governance
Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC Barcelona) has once again been recognised in the 2026 edition of the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability, placing in the 1151–1200 range worldwide from among the 1,994 universities analysed across the globe. Nationally, the University finished 39–42 out of 58 universities.

The 2026 QS WUR Rankings: Sustainability evaluates the environmental and social impact of universities, as well as their institutional governance. UIC Barcelona earned an overall score of 47.5 out of 100, with a particularly impressive performance in the categories Equality (86.9 points) and Good Governance (84.9 points), positioning it well above global medians.
In the category Social Impact, UIC Barcelona ranked =845 worldwide, thanks to solid results in educational impact (72.1 points), health and wellbeing (68.7) and knowledge exchange (56.7). These indicators reflect the University’s commitment to innovation and education and its contribution to the health and wellbeing of society.
In the area of Governance, the University placed =421 worldwide and 23rd in Spain, results driven by sound governance grounded in transparency policies, an integrity- and values-based organisational culture and student participation in its governing bodies, among other aspects.
The 2026 edition of the QS WUR Rankings: Sustainability includes 1,994 institutions from 108 countries, with a total of 58 Spanish universities represented. Spain remains among the ten countries with the strongest presence, alongside the United States, China, England, India, France, Germany, Italy, Turkey and South Korea.
UIC Barcelona’s inclusion in the QS WUR Rankings: Sustainability reflects its steady progress towards becoming a more responsible and sustainable university.
The aim of the UIC Barcelona Statistical Data and Rankings Office is to measure the University’s performance in different areas through data and evidence, heightening its visibility both nationally and internationally through the social impact of rankings and lists.
