Accompanied by Professor Sergi Corominas, the third-year students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Law managed to qualified among more than fifty teams

The third-year students of the UIC Barcelona Bachelor’s Degree in Law obtained a laudable third place in the Moot Court competition organised last June in Madrid by the prestigious Garrigues law firm. The team, led by Procedural Law lecturer Sergi Corominas Bach, and comprised by Blanca Calderón, Marcos López, Ignacio Pujol, Josep Garanger i Puigdevall and Víctor Linares, participated in this tough state litigation competition, in which more than fifty teams compete each year.

The topic of the competition for this academic year focused on commercial law, specifically on corporate governance and a fictitious case of a potential conflict between majority and minority shareholders. The competition was structured in two parts, with a first phase of a written test, in which all the participating teams had to submit the draft of their claim, and a second phase, in which only the three finalists, including UIC Barcelona, qualified.

In the final phase, which was held in Madrid, the UIC Barcelona students won third place in the competition, and received many congratulations from the jury, made up of academics, following their great performance in the final litigation.
