On 29 April, the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture hosted the final session of the 2026 Foros lecture series, focused on “Local Architecture”. The session featured architect Joan Casals, from Ágora Arquitectura, and architect and alum Francesc Buixeda, from BxD Arquitectura, who discussed how architectural practice is often the result of observing the immediate surroundings, reusing resources and the ability to turn constraints into project opportunities

The sessions, organised by Career Services, gave students the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into different career paths and areas within the communication sector.

How are architectural projects developed today in complex and rapidly changing contexts? What role does collaboration play in the design process? Can multiple visions be aligned without sacrificing coherence? Such were the topics discussed during the third session of the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture’s 2026 Foros lecture series, focused on collaborative methods in architecture

Can artificial intelligence redefine how we design architecture? How might digital visualisation be integrated as a core design tool? Could 3D printing evolve into a new construction system? These were among the key questions explored during the second session of the Foros 2026 lecture series at the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture, which focused on the opportunities digitalisation is creating for contemporary architectural practice.

Architects from ELIA Architecture and MASS Design Group shared experiences in global and multicultural contexts and highlighted the importance of grounding architectural practice in principles and purpose

The session featured Roser Segarra, director of Human Resources at ALDI Spain, president of Aedipe Catalunya and an Economics ‘97 alum, and David Reyero, head of Talent at Sanofi Iberia, and was moderated by Isabella Meneghel, UIC Barcelona lecturer and expert in organisational psychology and workplace wellbeing

The initiative, promoted by the University Master’s Degree in Cultural Management, has recognised the cultural projects of graduates Anna Fando Morell, Olivia Indrén and Kasun Gunawardana.

For the second consecutive year, UIC Barcelona has taken part in the emerging projects fair held within the framework of the Mobile World Congress, which takes place in Barcelona every year. 4YFN brings together entrepreneurial talent, start-ups, investors, institutions and companies, offering a key opportunity for university-driven initiatives such as the four innovative projects presented by UIC Barcelona alongside both graduates and current students.
