Students from the Faculty of Communication Sciences take part in Alumni UIC Barcelona’s job opportunities sessions

The sessions, organised by Career Services, gave students the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into different career paths and areas within the communication sector.

Advertising and Public Relations students attended a session led by Jordi Rozas (Audiovisual Communication, Class of ’09), CEO of Drac Pixel Group, and Victoria Dios (Advertising, Class of ’20), founder of the boutique agency The Castle. During the session, they discussed their professional journeys and offered practical guidance on how to begin a career in the industry. They also explored several fields within the sector, including event management, influencer marketing and strategic planning.

Meanwhile, Journalism and Audiovisual Communication students were treated to a session by Mae Rostro (Journalism, Class of ’18), journalist at FC Barcelona, and Xiao Verdeguer (Audiovisual Communication, Class of ’23), audiovisual producer. The speakers shared their industry experiences and highlighted the opportunities and challenges of the current job market. The session was moderated by Pere Buhigas, vice dean of the Faculty and Alumni Coordinator.

The aim of these initiatives is to provide students insight into the realities of the job market and support their professional development through direct contact with alums currently working in the field.
