Over 100 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree students attend the online information session on Erasmus+ traineeships

Promoted by the University’s International Relations Service and Alumni & Careers Service, the meeting was organised with a view to providing the student body information about the various curricular and extracurricular work placement options available in Erasmus+ programme countries.

Over 100 bachelor’s, university master’s and doctoral degree students attended the information session on Erasmus+ traineeships organised by the International Relations Service in conjunction with the Alumni & Careers Service at UIC Barcelona.

The talk, held online on Wednesday 23 March, was organised with a view to providing information and answering questions about the various curricular and extracurricular work placement options available as part of the Erasmus+ programme.

The event, which kicked off with a few words of welcome and a brief introduction by Isabel Pera, director of the International Relations Service, also included a talk by Juliette Borvi, senior recruiter, career coach and speaker, who works with international clients around the world.

With a great deal of professional experience under her belt, Borvi shared with attendees several work-related experiences from her time living and working in countries such as Senegal, the United Kingdom, Poland and France. In the words of the speaker, “if you have the chance, I highly recommend you take the plunge and experience the adventure of working in another country. Both as a professional and person, this type of experience has had a hugely positive impact on who I am.”

Acquiring the ability to work in a multicultural environment, learning another language, having the opportunity to grow and advance their careers in an international company, with a chance to travel the world and enjoy good working conditions, are just some of the perks the speaker emphasised during her talk to encourage attendees to pursue a work placement opportunity abroad.

Following her speech, Maria José Mayorga, an alumnus of the University Master’s Degree in Cultural Management, also discussed her curricular work placement experience at the Cervantes Institute in Milan, thanks to which she also earned a grant to study in Rome.

The information session ended with a talk by Mònica Luque, from the International Relations Service, who presented the different kinds of work placement opportunities and the funding options available for working abroad. In addition, Frederic Dyck Salrach, director of Alumni & Careers, and Natàlia Carrer, from this same service, were on hand to discuss the services and advice they offer to anyone interested in taking part in the Erasmus+ traineeship programme.
