6th International Conference for Biodigital Architecture and Genetics
The 6th International Conference on Biodigital Architecture and Genetics is a triennial congress organised by the Institute of Biodigital Architecture and Genetics, the Genetic Architectures Research Group and the Master’s Degree in Biodigital Architecture at the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture. The conference will take place from 3–5 June 2026 in the Saló de Graus at the University. The conference is led by Dr Alberto T. Estévez and, this year, forms part of the programme of Barcelona World Capital of Architecture.
The congress is a leading international forum that brings together biology, genetics and digital technologies with architecture and design, with the aim of exploring new ways of thinking about, designing and building the built environment. Over the course of the conference, participants will present new developments and research outcomes in the fields of research, teaching and professional practice related to biodigital architecture.
The programme includes keynote lectures, scientific paper presentations and round-table discussions on topics such as generative and parametric design, advanced bio-inspired architecture, biolearning, digital organicism, digital fabrication, biofabrication, artificial intelligence, evolutionary processes, hybrid ecologies and radical sustainability, among others.
At the same time, and as part of the same conference, a dedicated one-day event and an exhibition entitled “Learning from Gaudí in the 21st century” will be held to mark the centenary of the death of Antoni Gaudí.
