Education to support, strengthen and lead the future of families

At the Institute for Advanced Family Studies (IESF-UIC Barcelona), we offer programmes that combine academic rigour, an interdisciplinary approach and a strong practical focus. Our aim is to provide training for those seeking to support families – teachers, counsellors, educators, parents and health and social care professionals – to strengthen healthy bonds and drive affective, relational and community wellbeing.

All programmes are aligned with UIC Barcelona’s mission to humanise the transformation of society through professional excellence, the pursuit of impact, integrity and social commitment.

Our course selection

The IESF-UIC Barcelona's programmes are structured into three core areas, making it possible to design flexible learning pathways tailored to the desired depth and competencies and student needs:

  • Postgraduate programmes

Highly specialised university programmes

We prepare professionals capable of engaging with rigour, sensitivity and a comprehensive approach across family, educational and social contexts. Our postgraduate programmes combine scientific evidence, an interdisciplinary perspective and practical methodologies and are taught by distinguished experts.

Each programme includes:

  • Student profile and professional opportunities
  • Flexible format (on-site / online / hybrid)
  • Curriculum and downloadable resources
  • Supervised practical sessions (depending on the programme)
  • Multidisciplinary teaching staff
  • Information sessions, tutorials and academic guidance
